When a woman discovers she’s going to have a baby, many times her family and friends will host a baby shower for her. The host will invite the expectant mom’s family and friends to this shower and those guests will bring gifts for the new mom and baby.

In Josephine County, there are approximately 800 babies born every year. With a 12% poverty rate, there will be many new moms who don’t have a support system of family and friends who can give her a shower to gather those necessities.  Soroptimist decided to host a shower for those families in need and invite the entire community to participate.

We invite everyone to donate a ‘gift’ of a baby item during this Community Baby Shower. Even though any amount is appreciated, would you consider making a donation of $25.00? This amount would help supply some of the basics baby needs which includes diapers, wipes, lotions and a clothing item.

All donations stay in Josephine County, are tax deductible,  and are shared with the following organizations:

Siskiyou Community Health Center

Illinois Safe House

DHS for Foster Families

Women’s Crisis Support Team

Thank you for helping moms and babies thrive in Josephine County.
