President Candice Amens

In 2005 I became a member of Soroptimist in Yreka, California. My husband and I purchased an independent pharmacy. I held the office of corresponding secretary and president. In 2019, after moving to Oregon, I joined the River Valley Club where I held the office of vice president and am currently serving my second year as president.

Soroptimist has been a great way to meet so many people. I enjoy our work and our mission of helping to educate women be obtain economic empowerment. I look forward to growing our club and continuing our mission

Rec. Sec. Terry McDonald

Retired CPA

I originally joined River Valley Soroptimists as a Charter Member in  March 2000 because I believe that one should give back to the community.  I left Grants Pass in 2008 but upon my return in 2023 immediately rejoined to, hopefully, make a difference in the lives of women and girls..

V. P. Gwen Luring

I joined Soroptimist River Valley in March 2000 as a Charter member. My previous work history as a Finance Manager for a major telecommunications company didn’t leave much time for community involvement. I moved to Grants Pass in 1998 and immediately started looking for opportunities to serve.  Helping women and girls live their best lives is a passion of mine.

I moved to Grants Pass in 2022 and started looking for a way to serve my community.  I found Soroptomist and immediately joined when I researched all they do for our community and women.  Although I am a newer member I have already made some lifelong friendships with these amazing women.

Director Dana Englehardt

Retired RN

I joined Soroptimist when I retired to this area five years ago. In my 25 years of nursing, I have seen many women who simply needed a helping hand. Helping women to become self supporting through education provides that helping hand.
